soil taste
sticky between teeth
i swallow it anyway
the sky pinks like regret
and my knees grow roots
where i kneel
your laugh cracks
through the walls
i let it in, let it rot
i am a candle
burning inside a jar
wax melting over petals
hands full of half-light
half-ash
i press them to my chest
it will make me bleed less
the night tastes like iron
but i drink it anyway
too sweet to ignore.
