Sleep Paralysis

By: Ammon Cothran

Night after night it comes back

It pins me to my bed

My body completely dysfunctional

Horror rushes through me

Like my blood through my veins

Chills cover my body.

I’ve never seen her

I just know she’s there

Stalking me

Watching my every move

Feeding off my fear.

I pray every night for a break

She always comes back

Stronger than the last

As I sink into my mattress

Not able to move

I know she’s there

Yet there’s nothing I can do.

Now I feel her presence during the day

She’s moved into my day to day life

I can’t keep going like this

I just want her gone.
