Some believe God is man shaped,
That his soul is trapped between the bones and flesh of a person.
Others believe God is a being,
An entity without a form.
The truth of it all is that God is a teenager named John,
Hunched on his computer making the world on Unreal Engine,
And failing all the same.
That’s why we have ‘modern’ art,
It was a bug he made by accident when switching from Python to C++.
He needs a lot of improvement,
Which is why you may see the Zebra clipping through the wall,
Or people who aren’t fully rendered,
And why politicians are inherently built with no ‘empathy’ setting,
The bugs have turned to features,
The writing choices are questionable at best,
And there’s some unnamed Jpegs that, without, the whole game would crash–
We call those things ‘entropy’ and ‘particle diffusion’,
But to him they’re strings of code.
It’s not perfect–it’s anything but,
It’s a game with no ‘restart’ button,
but it’s the only game we have,
and we can’t let it be bought by Nintendo,
Or passed around like a Pokemon card–
Instead, we can match fix the problems and wait for the next patches,
Of our one, and only, game.
